About TEI

Diligent Horse

The Equus Ink was created on September 1st 2006.

In July, 2006, I adopted my first Off Track Thoroughbred (OTTB). His name was "Ink Spot." At the time, I didn't know anything about him, including his age. After researching his tattoo number, I later discovered that "Ink" was actually "Pavlovsk." A 1999 Thoroughbred who was foaled in Kentucky. He raced at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park, with ten top three finishes.

I created this blog over four years ago to simply document Ink's progress of life off the track and share his story along the way.

In April 2010, at only 11 years old, Ink was laid to rest due to an in-operable colic. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him. You can read more about the infamous big bay, Ink and his story by clicking the tab "Ink."

In May 2010 I found my second OTTB by more than coincidental circumstance. He is a dark bay, four years old who was retired from his single race career after he bowed a tendon. I named him Reason for, "Everything Happens for a Reason." Today, years later after meeting my first special, OTTB, I embark on my next journey. Starting from the beginning again.

I scribble down my passions and thoughts on horses, riding, training and all that comes along with it.

I've been thankful enough to meet people through this blog. I welcome anyone to comment and you are free to do so under an anonymous name if you wish. Whatever you'd like to say or share, please know that your thoughts and opinions are more than welcome.

If there is something you'd like to say through a private email, please feel free to visit the contacts page to do that.

Thank you to all of my readers through the years for following along in my journey with Ink and now with Reason.
